12. Go to Disneyland, California

12. Go to Disneyland, California

Words cannot even begin to describe how happy I was. Disney has played a very big part in my life. Ever since I was little I can remember watching old Disney videotapes and learning important life lessons as well as enjoying the magical worlds I could escape to.
I vaguely remember going to Disneyland Paris when I was 7, but I can only remember being absolutely knackered when having to walk a few miles down the stretch of hotels as ours was the one on the end. Sadly, I have no other memories of the park, the rides or characters...

Which is why I was so thrilled when I found out I would be going on a 3 week road trip around California with my parents. They surprised me and said that we would be spending 2 days in Disney at the very end.
I almost cried.
I remember walking into the park and feeling years worth of nostalgia and excitement building up ready to explode!

After 2 very short days of rides, Disney characters, food and magic, I had to say a temporary goodbye to the place I had wanted to go for so many years. I knew I wouldn't be able to afford another trip to Disney for a long time, and it was very sad to remember that as I got on the bus back to our hotel; but I know that I will never forget the happy tears I cried in that park.

Thinking back now as I write this post, almost a year after I was there, I can still feel the happiness that I felt then. It's such an amazing place where everyone was so nice.

I think my favourite ride had to be either California Screamin' or Space Mountain. I had watched videos on what the roller coasters were like because I usually get quite nervous before going on an unfamiliar ride. However, when I sat down on Screamin', I had no idea how fast this ride actually was. It wasn't even the first huge drop that scared me the most, it was the speed building up to it.
There were so many things I wanted to do, but I didn't even manage to do half of them! This motivates me even more to start saving so I can go again  to do everything. It will take time and effort (student discounts always manage to persuade me to spend money) but I know that I will be back at that park soon.

This has been the best holiday I've had so far.
And it won't be the last.

Thanks,

Amy.
